Super League side Napsa stars have been given a go-ahead to observe a minute of applause to Enock Mwepu in their next two games.
The former National Team captain who was forced to end his playing career after being diagnosed with a hereditary heart condition has continued to receive love, tributes and support from the football fraternity around the world.
The 24-year-old midfielder who started his football career in Chambishi, also played for Kafue Celtic and Zambian Super League sides Power Dynamos and Napsa Stars before he left for Europe.
Mwepu signed for Napsa stars at the end of the 2016 season and played for the pensioners for one season before he joined Austrian side FC RedBull Salzburg in 2017 where he went on to play for the main team with his compatriot Patson Daka.
He later joined Brighton and Hove Albion FC at the start of the 2021/22 season.
As a way of showing solidarity to the former Chipolopolo captain, the football association of Zambia has further called on any club wishing to observe a minute of applause for Enock Mwepu to do so before their week 9 fixture matches.
“Any other clubs wishing to show solidarity with Enock Mwepu in the same fashion may do so before their Week 9 matches during the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, 22nd and 23rdOctober 2022.” read the letter from FAZ.
Napsa Stars will be in action this afternoon against Zesco United in a rescheduled week 7 game to be played at Heroes Stadium at 15hrs.
