With NAPSA Stars Football Club sitting just above the relegation zone, the club has had enough of poor string of results from head coach Sipho Mumbi and his technical bench.
On Thursday, NAPSA suffered a one nil defeat to visiting Mufulira Wanderers at the REIZ Arena.
After the match, Mumbi was disappointed losing at home.
“A very difficult loss, more especially at home. The worst would have been a draw, but of course we wanted to win. But football being what it is, it is always difficult when you are playing teams that have so much influence in terms of supporters. We didn’t take our chances in the first half; they came in, and it was a game of whoever wanted it the most, and they scored that goal,” he said.
The pensioners are 15th on the log with 20 points from 19 league matches played thus far.
The Club has also mutually separated with first assistant Coach Lawrence Munsha Lubinda and goalkeeper Coach Samuel Banda as part of the restructuring of the technical bench.
Chief Executive Officer Charles Chakatazya expressed the Club’s appreciation for the departing coaches, stating:
“We are grateful for their service to Napsa Stars and we wish them the very best in their future endeavours.”

Bolanews understands that Tenant Chilumba, will likely take up the coaching role until the end of the season. Chilumba is the club’s technical director.
“The Club will communicate further decisions regarding the composition of the technical bench in due course“
