The Carling Black Label Charity Shield between Kabwe Warriors Football Club and Red Arrows is scheduled to take place in Ndola’s Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Saturday, August 10, 2024.

The meeting of the two sides is a repeat of the 2024 ABSA Cup final, which Red Arrows emerged victorious to record a league double last season.

At this morning’s pre-match news conference at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Friday, Warriors assistant coach Noel Mwandila stated that the squad is treating tomorrow’s game with utmost seriousness.

“We know we are coming up against the team which is on a good momentum at the moment. They are the defending Champions of the League; they won the ABSA Cup and recently the CECAFA Cup. But all in all, the team is ready for tomorrow’s match,” said Mwandila.”

Since the fans can choose the starting lineups for both teams, Mwandila says the game is for the fans.

“Time to revenge ABSA Cup loss”-Mwachiaba.

“I just want to thank the sponsors for having brought the initiative of the fans having to play a part in the selection of the team. So, they have a say in tomorrow’s game. We would love to see what kind of first 11 they will put up so it’s an interesting one because they won’t just come to support but they will have a say on the starting 11.”

Kabwe Warriors striker Akakulubelwa Mwachiaba thinks it’s time to make up for the ABSA Cup loss to Red Arrows.

“We wanted to win the ABSA Cup but unfortunately we couldn’t. We faced a very strong side, a side that we can’t seem to lose, they are failing to lose at the moment. It’s a big club and we are representing a very big club in the Zambian League, and we know what is at stake.

At the same event, Red Arrows assistant Coach Kalililo Kakonje and Captain Saddam Phiri said that the match will be tough, but they are ready for Warriors.

“We are ready for the match, and we will give it to the fans. We will support their best XI and help them win” said Kakonje.
