The formidable task awaits Mighty Mufulira Wanderers when they host Nkwazi in a week 14 fixture play on Saturday afternoon at Shinde Stadium.
Coming off a 1-1 draw with Trident at Imboela Stadium the previous time out, Nkwazi will be looking to earn as many points as possible away from home.
Coach Oswald Mutapa of Nkwazi is optimistic about his team’s ability to perform even if they have a number of ailments going into their encounter against Mufulira Wanderers.
“It will be a tough game, we have four players that played our previous game that are not able to play this one because of injuries, but we still have players that can come in and fill the gap that has been left by those that are not going to play”
Mutapa has instilled a great deal of energy into the Nkwazi team since taking over as head coach. In the team’s 13 games thus far, they have won six, drawn five, and lost two.
Mufulira Wanderers, on the other hand, have shown that they are a tough nut to crack in front of their home supporters. Despite losing to Prison Leopards 2-0 the previous weekend, Mighty will be tough to beat because they have not lost at home.
Mutapa believes the team has what it takes to deliver despite facing a side that has not lost at home.
“We will try to get maximum points”- Mutapa.
“We will try by all means to get maximum points, but we know it’s going to be tough again the atmosphere we just have to control the atmosphere and make sure we don’t concede in the early minutes of the game if we concede then we give them momentum to do more,”
“The team has the confidence because we are able to create chances, but we are not going to look at other teams to lose so that we go on top of the summit, we just have to get each game as it comes and try to get maximum points,” added Mutapa.
