Towela Nkhata, a midfielder for Konkola Blades Queens FC says the team is aiming to finish top of their stream in the ZPL Women’s Super Division Transitional League.
On Saturday, in their season opener, Konkola Blades Queens demolished Amazing Grace FC 5-1 at Konkola Stadium.
Blades are competing in the Northern Zone, which also has defending women’s league champions, Zesco Ndola Girls.
In an interview, Nkhata said that the club wants to end on top of the log standings.
“This is a short season, and we want to fight for first position at the end of the season,” she disclosed.
Nkhata adds that she wants to score more goals but not from the set pieces she scored.
“I want to score more from team efforts and hard work,” she concluded.
Meanwhile, Konkola Blades Queens have signed two players for the 2026 Transitional League season.
Agness Phiri, joins on a permanent move from Petauke Queens FC, and Natasha Mulenga, a central defender, signing a one-year, and six-month loan deal from Green Buffaloes.
