Mutapa not worried with consecutive draws after another tie with Arrows

Power Dynamos has only scored three goals in two of their last four games, resulting in three consecutive draws, but Mutapa is not concerned.

Following a second consecutive draw against Red Arrows on Sunday afternoon, Power Dynamos Football Club head coach Oswald Mutapa says he is not concerned about the team’s goal-scoring drought.

In a goalless draw against defending champions Red Arrows at Arthur Davies Stadium, Aba Yellow failed to find the back of the net for the second time this season.

Mutapa reacted to the result at home, saying he was unconcerned about his team’s lack of goals, adding that they dominated the encounter despite missing the final touch that would have given them all three points.

“Unfortunately another draw, but I feel we had chances. I don’t think Arrows created a clear-cut chance, but I think we did. Disappointed that it is another draw when we had a chance to win it,” Mutapa said. “Passing the ball in the net is the thing that is not working; we are creating chances, and if you can’t pass the ball in the net, you can’t score. Even today that was the problem.”

Mutapa’s side has drawn their last three Super League games since their first win of the season, a 1-2 victory over Mufulira Wanderers, but he is confident that they will come good in their next league match. He also reiterated the club’s desire to win trophies despite the ongoing squad rebuilding process.

“This is something that we do nearly every day, and we’ll keep pushing. Football is a process. The young boy, Keagan Mtonga, did very well apart from the goal,” he said. “This is a young team that we want to build, and of course we are going through the process but also looking for honours.”

Power Dynamos are currently in sixth place, while Red Arrows have moved to third place with seven points.
