Prison Leopards attacker Lubinda Mundia says he has not failed to meet his set target for this Super League season because it is still on.
The striker returned to the squad following a long injury layoff as the Kabwe-based side beat Nkwazi 1-0 in a Week 30 Super League match.
He was on the sidelines after he sustained an injury in a Week 18 encounter against ZESCO United in Ndola and underwent a successful operation at Kabwe Central Hospital on 10th January 2023.
Mundia who is on loan from Red Arrows returned to light training on 11 April, 2023. Before getting injured, he scored six goals for the Correct Boys.

As of Week 4, the striker netted his 3rd goal in three matches as he shot straight to the top goal scorers’ chart in the Super League.
“The season has not ended yet, “Mundia told BolaNews. “I will only tell if I failed to reach my set target after the season has ended, for now, it is still game on.”
Mundia has also disclosed that the long injury layoff slowed him down as he was expecting to score more goals in the current season.
“I’m expected to score goals, the more game time I have, the more goals I expect.”
“We all want to be top scorers.” – Mundia
The striker notes that a lot of strikers have really done well in the Super League. He adds that it is now competitive for the strikers to keep scoring goals.
“Definitely! I’m a striker… Each and every striker is competition to me and of course we all want to be top scorers,” he stated.
“The Super League has great defenders, it has not been easy beating any of them. I think all defenders are a challenge and you need to work hard to beat them.”
Having missed 11 League matches, Mundia can surely dream of a perfect finish for Prison Leopards who occupy 9th position after 30 matches. They are 5 points behind second-placed Green Buffaloes.
He reveals that the team is aiming for a top-four finish.
“It has generally been a fair season, everyone has been putting in their best. I only wish we can work extra hard to finish in the top 4,” he said.
Mundia signed a 1-year loan deal with Leopards from Red Arrows after spending a season at Ndola-based side Buildcon Football Club.
Now that he is back on the pitch, Mundia says he wants to continue improving himself.
“I want to continue improving myself. In each new season, I want to be a better player than I was in the past season,” Mundia revealed.
