Zambia’s MTN Super League side Mufulira Wanderers has agreed to release Malawi striker Emmanuel Saviel on loan.

Two weeks ago, BolaNews reported that the player requested his release because he was not given enough game time.

Saviel, 20, joined Mufulira in July of last year from Malawi’s FCB Nyasa Big Bullets. He signed a three-year contract that will keep him at Wanderers until June 30, 2027.

The Malawian has only played 12 games since his arrival, starting only three, which has disappointed him and prompted him to request a loan.

Ekhaya FC and Mighty Wanderers expressed interest in signing the player on loan.

BolaNews understands that the player has since agreed terms with Ekhaya for the signing of the striker. The Zambian club will be paid USD 1, 750 as a loan fee. Ekhaya will also carter for his salary.

“I can confirm with you that the player will be in Malawi this week. He has agreed terms with Ekhaya. It is true that Mighty Wanderers were also interested in the player but the player has chosen Ekhaya,” a source revealed.

BolaNews has also established that Mufulira initially demanded a USD 3,000 loan fee, but Wanderers and Ekhaya were unable to meet the figure.

During the negotiations, Wanderers agreed to pay USD 2000, while Ekhaya proposed a USD 1750 fee. Despite their low offer, Saviel chose to join Ekhaya, stating, “I am assured of game time at Ekhaya, hence joining them.”
