After two months of discussions, Malawi’s Mighty Wanderers have finally agreed with Zambia’s Green Buffaloes to extend the loan deal for striker Christopher Kumwembe.

Kumwembe, who had been in Zambia since the previous year, had returned to Malawi following the expiry of his loan deal but went back to Zambia in July, before the two clubs had agreed on a fee.

Wanderers were not happy that Kumwembe left Malawi for Zambia before the agreement was finalized and asked him to return home, but the player did not.

BolaNews has established that Wanderers initially demanded 35,000 United States Dollars for the loan extension, a fee Buffalos could not manage. The two clubs later settled on 15,000 United States Dollars, allowing the player to be registered to continue playing in Zambia.

Wanderers chief executive officer Panganeni Ndovi could not be reached for confirmation.

However, the player expressed his delight at staying another season in Zambia. “I thank Allah for fulfilling my wish and I just pray to Allah to bless us to achieve what we prayed for,” he said.
