George Lwandamina returned to Levy Mwanawasa Stadium to face his former club, Zesco United, as his Nchanga Rangers side battled to a 1-1 draw.
Despite Zesco’s ambitions for all three points, interim head coach Emmanuel Siwale admitted it was a tough encounter against his experienced counterpart.

“We wanted maximum points, but I knew this was going to be a tough game, especially facing my big man (George Lwandamina). It was a very tactical match—I saw what he was doing, and I’m sure he also saw what I was doing. That’s where the game got tough,”Siwale reflected.
The draw means that Kabwe Warriors could leapfrog Zesco United at the top of the table if they secure maximum points at home against Indeni on Sunday.
Siwale acknowledged the situation but emphasized that his team would stay focused on their own objectives.

“I know we wanted three points, but this is what we got to push us somewhere. We will try and collect maximum points in the next game.”
With the Zesco match now behind them, attention shifts to their next challenge—a trip to Mufulira to face the resilient Mufulira Wanderers. Siwale stressed the importance of proper preparation to ensure a positive result.
“Now the target has shifted to Maite. We are going to Mufulira, and we have to prepare well to go and get positive results.”
