In 2015, Lumwana Radiants won the Division One North championship with one game remaining, earning them their first-ever promotion to the Zambian Super League.
The club founded in 2010 became the first team from North-western province to play in the Zambian Super league.
After overcoming relegation in the final round by defeating Nchanga Rangers F.C. 2-0 to finish 16th, one spot out of the relegation spots, Radiants survived relegation in 2018.
The Lumwana Mining Company-owned Radiants were demoted two seasons having lost their last game against FC MUZA.
The Kalumbila based side last season finished in second position of the National Division One league standings, enough to win promotion to the Zambian Super League.
Ahead of the new season, Club management know that they need to reinforce their squad to avoid relegation.
In April 2021, Bilton Musonda, the team’s current head coach, joined the Radiants and contributed to their 2021–22 National Division One League Championship.
