Chambeshi’s appointment as Konkola Blades’s head coach came after an abysmal string of results for the newly promoted Zambian Super League side.
The club has only managed to collect two wins from 11 games on their return to the top flight.
This prompted the club management to call upon former Chipolopolo manager Beston Chambeshi to take over the helm at Konkola Stadium.

Prior to the Konkola job, Chambeshi had been clubless since his administrative leave from Nkana FC in August.
Fans react to Chambeshi’s arrival at Konkola Blades
Many fans are delighted with the club hierarchy for appointing a manager of the calibre and experience of Chambeshi.
They hope he will be able to turn around the fortunes of the Chililabombwe side.
Wellington Hara wrote, “All we need is to survive relegation, and we know he won’t fail us.”
Then Innocent Kalunga added, “I prayed for this. Well done!”

However, the club said it has maintained other coaches, with Enos Silwimba taking the position of first assistant coach, while Lewington Mujembe and John Mukonje will be second assistant coaches.

This has left some fans disappointed, as they hoped Chambeshi would bring his own technical team to Konkola Blades.
Evans Musonda advised, “Let him come with his assistants and not keep those failures.”
Meanwhile, Blessing Paul complained, “Bad company corrupts good morals. The six flops should have been fired entirely, and Beston should have been allowed to bring his own trusted assistants.”
“Same management and remaining coaches on the bench. He [Chambeshi] will not deliver”, Alfred Mofia added.
