Newly promoted side Kansanshi Dynamos’ first assistant coach, Makundika Sakala, says the club has assembled a strong team capable of competing for honours in the upcoming Zambian Super League season.
Kansanshi Dynamos earned promotion after an impressive campaign in the National Division One League, where they finished in second place.
Now, the Mabanga Boys are looking to make a strong return to the top flight.
Speaking exclusively to BolaNews, assistant coach Makundika Sakala emphasised that the team is not entering the Super League just to participate.
“We have a team that will compete for honors and not just to make numbers in the league. So far, preparations are going on well,” he said.
The former Aguila Stars coach also downplayed the importance of pre-season results.
“Friendly matches don’t have an impact on how the team will play in the league because they just help in cohesion, game fitness, getting the right chemistry around the players and getting the right formation depending on the personnel you have. Football is a gamble,” concluded the coach.
Meanwhile, the Mabanga Boys held their pre-season training in Ndola and continue to step up preparations for the new campaign.
The Solwezi-based side faced Zesco United and Forest Rangers in friendly matches, losing both.
Kansanshi Dynamos will host Kabwe Warriors in their opening fixture of the 2025/26 Zambian Super League season.
