Kabwe Warriors defender Killian Kanguluma remains hopeful of a strong comeback despite the team’s recent poor performance.

The Warriors suffered their third consecutive defeat on Saturday against FC Muza. Since their loss to Green Buffaloes in Week 25 at Edwin Imboela Stadium, they have struggled to maintain consistency, dropping nine points over the past three matches.

Currently sitting in fourth place with 44 points, the Kabwe-based side is working to regain its form.

Kanguluma, who sustained a knee injury during a Week 21 fixture against Red Arrows, has been sidelined and is undergoing treatment. The exact timeline for his return remains uncertain, as he is still being closely monitored by the club’s medical staff.

In an exclusive interview with Bolanews, Kanguluma expressed his frustration at the team’s struggles during his absence: “I have missed three games and the team is even losing. I’m on treatment and hoping to come back soon,” he said.

Despite the setbacks, Kanguluma remains confident in the team’s abilities: “We still have quality players who have delivered for the team in the previous games and they are the same players. It’s just a phase that the team is going through, but we shall bounce back stronger.”

Kanguluma who has been featured in 24 matches for the Warriors this season also highlighted the team’s goals for the remainder of the season: “One of our targets was to qualify for ABSA, which we did and now we need to concentrate on getting back to winning ways so that we can finish in the top two of the league standings.”

Kabwe Warriors will face Athletico Lusaka in a midweek fixture on Wednesday as they aim to return to winning form.
