On Thursday, in a ZPL rescheduled Week 25 fixture, Zesco United and NAPSA Stars settled for a 1-1 draw at the Trade Fair Grounds.

Home side, Zesco United, nine-time league champions failed to make use of home advantage to sustain their winning momentum.

The draw result saw Zega Mambo drop to 10th place with 36 points from 27 games played so far.

Speaking to the club’s media in an interview, interim head coach Winston Kalengo expressed disappointment with the team’s performance.

“Obviously we expected a tough game against a team that is fighting for relegation. But it’s just unfortunate.”

“We started very well. I don’t know what happened. Then all of a sudden, we couldn’t even just connect passes,” said Kalengo.

“Don’t know. I don’t know. I think it is one of those games where you are trying to do what is right and every time you are just doing what is wrong.

“But all in all, a point at home, not very bad, though not very good, considering the team we are playing against. I think we are supposed to collect maximum points,” added Kalengo.

The former Zesco United striker hopes the team will make amends in their next match against FC Leopards.

“Yes, it is a crucial point, though I think we were supposed to get maximum points in this game. I think so, hoping to get back to winning ways in our next game. We just pray the next game the boys will bring up an A game,” concluded the coach.
