Kabwe Warriors are hoping to heap more misery on Zesco United when the two teams meet in the Super League at the weekend, with assistant coach Jackson Mwanza saying they have prepared for a win.
Mwanza is a former Zesco striker but finds himself in the Warriors dugout as one of the assistant coaches to George Chilufya at the Railways Grounds in Kabwe.
With an ABSA Cup qualification in sight, Warriors are looking to ensure they collect maximum points in a game that Mwanza anticipates will not be easy.
“We are back to the league, we have prepared so well and I am sure the team is ready to take on Zesco United. It will not be an easy encounter; Zesco is a very big team, very experienced. We have tried by all means to prepare for the same game and we are hoping for the best result,” he said.
Warriors are sixth on the log with 23 points, three better than Zesco, who have not won a match since December 20, 2025, when they beat Kansanshi Dynamos 2–0 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
“We want to play ABSA, that is one of our objectives. The approach we are going to have is always the same—going for a win,” Mwanza said.
