BolaNews understands that Kabwe Warriors FC has internally discussed former Napsa Stars coach Perry Mutapa and George Chilufya as potential replacements for Numba Mumamba.

This comes after Mumamba agreed to take over as Zanaco’s head coach.

Mumamba, who had a standout first half of the season for Kabwe Warriors, was approached by Zesco United two years after leaving the club but turned down the offer.

BolaNews sources revealed on Monday that his move to Zanaco has now been finalized. Mumamba was fired from his position as Zanaco’s coach in January 2020.

Kabwe Warriors are currently third in the league table with 30 points, level with second-placed Nkana and two points behind leaders Zesco United. They have also lost Geoffrey Binga, who has signed with Napsa Stars.

Mutapa, who has been away from coaching since leaving Napsa Stars before the season began, is now considered a top candidate for the Kabwe Warriors job.

His previous experience in Zambia’s top flight makes him an ideal candidate to take over at Kabwe Warriors.
