Nkana Football Club will still facing disciplinary action after the regrettable events in the Kitwe derby against Power Dynamos Football Club.
Nkana supporters tore seats out of the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on April 20 after the team gave up a contentious penalty in the last moments of the game, which finished in a 1-1 draw.
Joseph Chimpampwe, the CEO of the Zambian Premier League, revealed in an interview that the matter is pending the disciplinary committee’s reformation by the new FAZ Executive led by Keith Mweemba.
According to Chimpampwe, the decision will be made public before to the 2025–2026 Super League season.
He also stated that ZPL is in the process of coming up with its own Disciplinary Committee to help dispose of the cases during the season.
“Yes, it’s very active, but you also have to realize that, you know, the judicial bodies, their term came to an end with a change of executive,” Chimpampwe said.
Meanwhile, the ZPL CEO also disclosed that the 2025-26 MTN Super League and the Eden University Women’s Super League fixtures are ready.
“Even the fixtures, by the way, are ready. I’m just waiting for my head of communication to give me a go-ahead. Then we’ll be able to release at least for the women and the men’s super league,” he stated.
For the National League, “You remember, we have to wait for the playoffs to know who’s coming up.”
