Mutondo Stars coach Ronald Mukosha walked away from his side’s 2–0 defeat to Power Dynamos with a sense of relief rather than disappointment, admitting he had anticipated a far heavier loss against the defending Super League champions.

Going into the game, Power were widely expected to overwhelm a Mutondo side stretched thin by the absence of 10 regular players.

Mukosha revealed after the match that he was without close to 10 regular starters, a situation that significantly shaped his expectations going into the fixture.

“We know Power Dynamos are playing very well. I was expecting a cricket scoreline,” Mukosha said.

Instead, Mutondo produced a disciplined and organised display, limiting Power to two goals and remaining competitive for long stretches of the match.

“I am happy with the way the boys have accounted for themselves well because I am missing about 10 regular players,” he added. “I am very happy with how the boys have showcased themselves.”

The loss means Mutondo remains in the relegation zone with 11 points.
