The Choma-based Super League side Green Eagles Football Club head coach has said he is anticipating a tough encounter against Kansanshi Dynamos Football Club when the league enters week 6 after the international break.
Green Eagles who are coming from a 0-0 draw against Zesco United FC will clash with the Dynamos side that also recorded a scoreless draw against Lumwana Radiants in their last Super League match.
Chiyangi’s charges are currently sitting in 10th position with 7 points with Kansanshi occupying 14th position with 5 points from 5 matches.
The Eagles tactician has since noted that the matches between the two clubs have always been tough especially when they are playing in Solwezi at the Independence Stadium where the last meeting between the two ended in a goalless draw.
We know that we are playing Kansanshi. Kansanshi Dynamos is not a pushover, they are playing well and we know that it is going to be a tough game. All the games that we have played against Kansanshi have been tough,
Chiyangi said
Kansanshi Dynamos’ home ground is undergoing renovations, the Mabanga Boys have been forced to move to Lumwana Grounds for their home matches in the 2022/23 Super League season but according to the League broadcaster’s schedule, Kansanshi Dynamos will play host to their Week 6 match against Green Eagles at Nchanga Stadium in Chingola in a lunchtime kickoff away from their home town.
With the shift in venue for the match, Chiyangi is optimistic the ‘neutral’ venue will also work to the advantage of his side since they will not be playing at the home ground of Kansanshi Dynamos in Solwezi.
The change is that we are not going to be playing in Solwezi, we are playing in Chingola which makes a different scenario. At least playing in Chingola and at a different pitch might work for us also,
The Kawale Boys have had a bad record so far on their two away trips in the current campaign as they have lost on both occasions, despite the striking first.
In Week 1, the Eagles succumbed to a 3-1 defeat against Lumwana Radiants away and also suffered the same fate in Week 4 against Napsa Stars in Lusaka, going down 2-1.
Chiyangi has noted the need to prepare adequately for their next outing as they will be hoping to pick their first full points on the road. He has further urged the team to not underrate their opponents.
What is important for us is to make sure we prepare well and we go there and make sure we don’t underrate them and just compete like we are playing against any other team in the league,
He warned.
Green Eagles have so far recorded 2 wins, both being at Choma’s Independence, losing twice away from home with one draw while their last meeting with Kansanshi ended in a goalless draw
On the other hand, the Mabanga Boys have had a slow start to their campaign. The Boyd Mulwanda tutored side has won once, lost twice with 2 draws so far and will hope to record a their second win of the season in Week 6 starts on the 1st and 2nd October, 2022.
