Green Eagles and Nkwazi Football Club will square off in a week 17 fixture match on Saturday at Choma Independence Stadium.
Both teams come into this game high on confidence following their victories they recorded last weekend respectively.
Speaking ahead of this must win match for the Choma based side, Green Eagles Coach Alex Namazaba believes the team is ready to fight for a place in the 2024 ABSA Cup as they play their last match of the first round of the league.
Eagles have gone 8 games unbeaten, and they will be seeking to continue with their fine form in front of their home fans.
The once upon under fire gaffer, Namazaba is aware of the challenge ahead, but believes team is up to the task.
“Both teams are in good form it won’t be an easy game am happy with how the players have shown in training we are looking forward to the game”
“It’s a new game and a last game in the first round every team is fighting to play ABSA and we are also fighting to play ABSA. Nkwazi are one point ahead of us they are on second position this game is like a Cup final we need the three points,” he added.
Eagles have played 16 games and are in fifth place with 26 points; a victory will secure their spot in the ABSA Cup.

The Zambian Premier League was consulted prior to the decision being made, according to Reuben Kamanga, general secretary of the Football Association of Zambia.
“We have taken into consideration various aspects among them the cognizance of some players that will be away on national duty and also allow fans to follow the tournament with undivided attention,” says Kamanga.

The mid-season recess will run from January 15th, 2024, to February 12th, 2024.
