Prison Leopards win and stay top

Kabwe based side Prison Leopards have maintained their superb start to the 2022/23 Super League season as they beat Chambishi by 3-1 at President Stadium to take their point tally to 15 on top of the table.
The visitors opened the scores through Malani Gondwe in the 15th minute but the home side was quick to respond as Lubinda Mundia scored just after five minutes to draw the Correctional side level and take his tally of the season to 5 goals so far.

Wilmore Haatembo put the icing on the cake with a great strike and ensure the Correct Boys continue with their good run.

Green Buffaloes succumb, Arrows keeps pressure

Green Buffaloes suffered a 1-0 defeat in their Week 7 match against Red Arrows at Nkoloma Stadium.

7th attempt ‘no bwino bwino’ for Buildcon

Ndola based side Buildcon Football Club recorded a 6th defeat of the campaign in Week 7.
Team Kopala was beaten 2-0 by Lumwana Radiants at Lumwana Grounds on Saturday, and are currently the only team without a win so far in the 2022/23 season.
Buildcon are rooted at the bottom of the table with 1 point from 7 matches while Radiants moved into fifth position on 11 points with 3 wins so far.

Forest finally win at home

Forest Rangers managed to record a first win of the season at their home – Dola Hill Stadium – as they beat Nchanga Rangers 1-0 on Saturday.
Ian Bakala’s side sitting 3rd and is still one of the two unbeaten sides in the league alongside Prison Leopards, whom they are trailing by 3 points.
Nchanga Rangers slipped to 7th position as they conceded a fourth goal, the same number of goals scored.
Fole Malembe has so far scored 4 goals and have been breached just once in 7 matches.

MUZA swim, Nkana sink in Mazabuka

FC MUZA bounced back from a disappointing 3-0 defeat in Week 6 to Napsa Stars with a 1-0 win over 13-times Super League champions.

Nkana yet again failed to register a win as Andrew Phiri’s fourth goal of the season in the 78th minute condemned Kalampa to a fourth defeat of the season.

Kalampa, who failed to register a win for the third time this season are stuck in 16th position with 5 points while MUZA are now 6th with 11 points.

Are goals hard to come by?

Green Eagles played out to a goalless draw against Kabwe Warriors in Choma at the Independence Stadium.

Kabwe Warriors are the least scoring side so far with two goals scored while the have the second meanest backline that has allowed just 2 twice so far – only Forest have allowed fewer goals – 1.

From 16 goals scored in Week 6, it was a different story in Week 7 as only 9 goals scored across eight matches played on Saturday and Sunday. Prison Leopards accounting for the most number of goals – 3 and are the leading scorers with 11 goals.

Lubinda Mundia is proving to be the only consistent striker as he followed up with another goal, after scoring against Buffaloes in Week 6 and added a 5th goal of the campaign against Chambishi.
