First mid-week matches of the 2024–25 season of the Zambian Premier League are on this Wednesday across Zambia.

Due to two CAF encounters involving Champions, Red Arrows and Zesco United, last weekend saw fewer local league fixtures taking place.

Arrows recorded a 2-0 win over Malawi’s Nyasa Big Bullets at Lusaka’s National Heroes stadium, to advance to next stage of the CAF Champions league via a 3-2 aggregate.

Zimbabwe’s Dynamos FC ejected Zesco United after the match at Levy Mwanawasa stadium ended goalless.

Dynamos progressed to the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup on a 1-0 aggregate scoreline.

Red Arrows coach Chisi Mbewe will want his charges to replicate their CAF triumph on the local front when they host FC MUZA at Nkoloma stadium.

Prior to this game, FC MUZA had already suffered a 3-0 loss to Nchanga Rangers in the season’s first match.

In a 0-0 draw against Mufulira Wanderers in Mazabuka, Lameck Banda accused his players of failing to secure a winner to collect their first three points of the season.

Can FC MUZA pick full points at Nkoloma?

Banda, who is in his second spell at FC MUZA, must make sure the team doesn’t lose three straight matches given that the Mazabuka-based team was a giant killer just the previous season.
