NAPSA Stars head coach Sipho Mumbi cooled off a bit after his team managed to register a 2-0 win over visiting Kabwe Warriors at REIZ Arena on Saturday.
The Sipho Mumbi led technical bench is under pressure following a string of poor results posted in past league fixtures.
In a Week 13 away encounter at Kitwe Stadium, NAPSA Stars lost by a goal to nil to struggling Nkana FC.
Goals from Evans Kayombo 13th and Timothy Sichalwe in the 82nd were enough to seal the win for the Pensioners.
The victory has pushed NAPSA Stars to 11th place with 15 points in the league standings.
Speaking to journalists after the match, Mumbi hailed his boys for a splendid performance.
“I think congratulations to the boys for the well-spirited fight today. We knew where we were coming from, and it was a game that we said we were supposed to win playing at home, and I think it’s a morale booster,” he said.
“Of course we are still very far from our objectives, but I think we will take one step at a time,” he added.
He insisted that the team will continue working towards their set target, especially with the AfCON break coming up.
“We need to continue preparing until we reach our objective. We will try to talk to management and see how best they can help us,” noted the coach.
