FC Muza goalkeeper Emmanuel Banda says the 2023–24 Zambian Super League season has been challenging, but hopes to bounce back stronger next season.
Banda made his debut appearance for FC Muza in a week-eight fixture against Mufulira Wanderers. He kept a cleansheet in that match.
However, he later strained his muscles in the match against Kabwe Warriors in week 17. That forced him to be sidelined for over two months.
The young shot-stopper returned from injury in a week 26 fixture against Napsa Stars though he was an unused substitute.
Banda, who played just eight games and kept six clean sheets this season has since described his season as challenging.
“It’s been a season full of mixed emotions, honestly, a little bit of ups and downs but will focus more on the ups and try to improve them next season,” he said.
The goalkeeper is also disappointed that his team failed to qualify for continental football.
“It is a disappointment because it is something that we really wanted….. But we move on and support the team’s that did well and try to fight for the slots next season,” concluded Banda who was one of the young players promoted from Muza’s junior team at the start of the 2023-24 season.
FC Muza will finish fourth in the Zambian Super League. They will conclude the season with a matchup against Kabwe Warriors on Saturday.
