Two of the most successful and popular clubs in Zambia, Mufulira Wanderers and Nkana, face off this afternoon at Shinde Stadium.
Justin Chinama, the head coach of Mufulira Wanderers, has vowed that his team will not be the first to hand Nkana their first victory of the year.
Nkana holds a lead over the opposition in this afternoon’s game based on their previous five encounters, but their recent performance would seem to indicate otherwise.
Chinama said in an interview with BolaNews that the time is ideal to take advantage of Kalampa’s season-long troubles.
“For us we don’t want to give them their first three points of the season and as such we have prepared for them accordingly,” he stated.
“It’s the biggest game in the land and normally derbies are difficult to win. We have prepared well for them knowing that history in recent games favors them over us,” he added.
Due to their inconsistent play, Mufulira Wanderers, who have six points after eight games, have had difficulty.
Despite coming off a 2-1 setback to Mutondo Stars, Chinama believes that the time is now to live up to the expectations of the club’s seasonal goals.

“We haven’t amassed the points we wanted at this stage. It’s a bit tricky [the League] and as such we must collect maximum points in this game,” he said.
