Reigning Zambian coach of the year award winner and Super league defending champion Chisi Mbewe has said, he is not intimidated to face his mentor George Lwandamina as his team Red Arrows faces Kabwe Warriors this afternoon in a midweek encounter in Kabwe.
Mbewe said despite new Kabwe Warriors coach George Lwandamina being his mentor and a good coach, he is ready to face him.
I will be facing a coach[George Lwandamina] who has played a huge role in my coaching career. It is always good for a student to face his teacher. Super coach Lwandamina is a good coach but the most important thing is that we win.
I am not intimidated to face him because this is not the first time we are meeting.
said Chisi Mbewe
Red Arrows have failed to win a match at Railway stadium against Kabwe warriors in the last two seasons with their best result being a one-all draw, but Mbewe believes that could change this afternoon as his side looks ready for a positive result.
Playing at Kabwe warriors will always be difficulty but I think this time around, we know what happens at Railway stadium. We have reminded the players what to expect. The team looks ready and I hope we win.
he added
Meanwhile Kabwe warriors coach George Lwandamina is yet to win a match having drawn nil-nil with Nkana in his league opener and lost 0-1 to Forest rangers at home last weekend.
Lwandamina will look to make changes to his side and hope to record his first super league win with Warriors who are sitting in 14th position on the log standings with only a point from a possible six in two matches.
After losing to Forest Rangers last weekend, he admitted that his team failed to open up the game and disband the very defensive Rangers who according to him played deep in their own half and gave his strikers no chance to shoot on goal.
It remains to be seen how Lwandamina’s side will penetrate the Arrows defense which is yet to concede a goal this season and still boasting of a 13 games unbeaten run since last season when they were crowned champions for the first time in 18 years.
