Mwenya Chipepo has won seven league matches and lost just once since becoming Kalampa head coach last month.

Charles Zulu’s well-placed free kick from the visitors’ half was headed in by Chitoshi Chinga in the 59th minute to give the team the lead.

Six minutes later, Mathews Banda increased the lead by tapping in a Zulu-taken corner kick.

“We are on track to survive” – Chipepo.

Because of his two vital assists, Zulu performed so well that he was named the Fans’ Man of the Match.

Coach Chipepo was full of praise for his players wheb he spoke to the media after the match.

“I told the guys before the game that this would be one of the toughest matches we are going to play,” he explained. “Muza has young, disciplined players who are tactically sound and skilled. Many teams will struggle against them.“

He repeated that the team is using the strategy of treating each upcoming match as a “cup final.”

“All teams are aware that we are playing good football, and it won’t be easy for us, especially against Kabwe Warriors, who are currently above us in the standings. We need to go there and fight for either a point or three points,” he said.

Nkana fans.

Nkana fans will hope that team will go for their 14th league title, but Chipepo stated that his goal was to help the team avoid relegation and that anything else would be a bonus.

“It seems we are on track to survive, and we also aim to qualify for the ABSA Cup. The rest will come along the way.”
