Lumwana Radiants and Indeni Football Clubs are still chasing their first-ever victory of the season as the Zambian Premier League moves into Week Six this coming weekend.

After five matches played, Indeni and Lumwana are already in the relegation dogfight, sitting at the bottom end of the league table and only separated by goal difference.

From four matches, Bilton Musonda’s Uranium Boys only boasts of a draw against Nkana on the opening day of the season before going on a three-match losing streak.

On the other hand, Tenant Chembo has also endured a tough return to the top-tier league with only a point and at the bottom of the standings, having shipped in 10 goals after just five matches.

The two sides will meet at Lumwana Grounds for a chance to redeem themselves after a torrid start to the season.

Chembo is, however, upbeat about his team’s chance of collecting their first three points of the season as they play another struggling side after a 1-nil defeat to Kabwe Warriors last season.

Chembo states that the team has been creating chances, though their conversion rate of the chances has been below what is expected of the team.

“It (performances) has been giving us hope; we are improving despite not getting the desired results. The morale is there; hopefully we will play to win,” Chembo said.

The gaffer has, however, cautioned his charges to anticipate a tough match against Lumwana Radiants, who are also eyeing their first three points of the season.

“It will be a tricky fixture; both of us haven’t won a game. “It is an injury-free team; rotations are there because we are trying to keep everyone,” Chembo said.
