With less than 24 hours to their week 31 Super League match against MUZA football club, Buildcon football club, already in a financial crisis are yet to leave their base in Ndola for Mazabuka town in the Southern Province.
Bolanews can exclusively reveal that the players and the team’s executive were in a meeting this afternoon, top on the agenda, salaries, and winning bonus arrears that the club owes the players.
Club management has offered to pay the players part-payments in order for the team to undertake the long trip to the sweetest town in Zambia though the players feel the offered amount is not enough.
“The team is still in Ndola, they’re trying to resolve the money issues,” the source said, “players have been offered less money for them to travel to Mazabuka and fulfill the fixture against FC MUZA. It looks highly unlikely so far, the team will travel but the negotiations are ongoing.”
Two weeks ago, Team Kopala failed to travel for a Week 29 Super League fixture which saw Kansanshi Dynamos getting a 3-0 scoreline with 3 points on the day.
Last week, the team came up against Kabwe Warriors as they went down by 4-0 at the Trade Fair Grounds in Ndola. Financial issues have hit hard, the the-once-upon-a-time super league big spenders during this current season.

Should Buildcon, fail to travel for tomorrow’s match against FC MUZA, it will be the second walkover in the Super League this season in a space of three weeks.
