Defending champions Power Dynamos and FC MUZA fought to a goalless draw on Saturday, a result that head coach Noel Phiri thinks can spark their season.

Following a strong start to the season, the Mazabuka team, who were at the top of the table after week four, had faltered with back-to-back 1-0 losses to Red Arrows and Mufulira Wanderers.

But the Elegant Dynamites showed some of the tenacity that made them early pacesetters when they faced the champions.

Phiri praised the way his players handled recent setbacks, claiming it was a significant boost to their confidence.

“Coming from two consecutive losses, a draw with Power gives us a lot of strength going forward,” the coach said.

Although MUZA has failed to score in three consecutive games, Phiri is still hopeful that the team will soon find its attacking touch again.

“Goals will start coming. That’s where we are concentrating a lot in training,” he insisted.

“The game was tough playing with champions—a draw for us is a plus,” he added.

The FC Muza boss also welcomed the timing of the international break, which he views as an opportunity to sharpen the team’s finishing and rebuild momentum.

“It’s good that we are going into the break. Our job is to continue working with the boys in finishing,” said Phiri.

With their early-season form fading but confidence slowly returning, Muza will hope the draw against Power Dynamos marks the beginning of a turnaround when league action resumes.
