Zanaco football club Ladies striker Sarah Jere has returned to training after suffering an ankle injury in a rescheduled week one fixture against YASA Queens.
Sarah was a member of the squad that defeated YASA Queens 4-0, but she was unable to participate in the next games due to an ankle injury she sustained during the match.
The injury made her miss from the Copper Queens’ back-to-back 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations WAFCON qualifiers versus Angola.
In an exclusive interview with Bolanews, Sarah confirmed that she was back in training and may be available for selection on Saturday.
“Am much better am from training, maybe this weekend I might play,”
The Zanaco Ladies forward has been in good form as she was Zambia’s top scorer with four goals at the 2023 Cosafa Championship in which the Copper Queens lost the final match to Malawi.
Sarah, who led the Zanaco Ladies to victory in their second season of play with 13 goals the previous year, was a vital member of the team in the 2021–2022 season.
