Following their 2-0 win over Burundi at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on Saturday, the Zambia’s U-20 women’s national team remained on course to qualify for the first-ever World Cup.
The Copper Princesses have recorded a 4-1 aggregate win over Burundi, the second second-round qualifier, to remain on course for a World Cup appearance.
Edith Phiri headed Zambia into the lead in the ninth minute to set the pace for what turned out to be another routine win for the team.
Two minutes from the break, Mercy Chipasula scored Zambia’s second of the day to close the encounter.

In the second half, Zambia tried to get more goals, but they had already done enough to progress to the next round.
Zambia is looking to be among the four African teams that will be in Poland for the World Cup next year.
Should they qualify, it will be the first time the women’s team at this level would be qualifying for the World Cup.
