The Tanzania Women’s National Team coach has revealed what he thinks the Copper Queens should do ahead of the World Cup following his side’s 1-0 in an international friendly match played at Woodlands Stadium on Sunday.

Comfort Selemani scored the lone goal in the second half to ensure the Copper Queens won their final home game before departing for a European camp.

The Copper Queens are preparing for their first World Cup appearance and will travel to Germany for a series of high-profile international friendlies.

Meanwhile, speaking in an exclusive interview with Bolanews, Tanzanian coach Bakari Shime stated that if the Copper Queens work on their tactics and mistakes, they have a good chance of reaching the World Cup quarterfinals.

Out of 10, Shime gave the Copper Queens a 60% chance of making it out of the group stage.

“If they will work on their mistakes, such as claimness and how to create space, they can do better because, in terms of fitness, Zambia is good…. So the coach with a little bit of tactic will be better than this…. And they can reach the quarterfinals, and out of 10, I give them 6,” he said.

He also believes that his team gave Zambia a competitive game and exposed their weaknesses, which they will have to work on ahead of the World Cup next month.

“Everyone saw what happened on the pitch, and we tried to fill the gaps for the Copper Queens. We know the strength of the Copper Queens, their power and speed…. But we put a good shape on ours to prevent that, and they have many questions or areas they are supposed to work on because they are going to play at a high level in the world. I hope the coach and technical stuff saw a lot of things, and they will sit down to clear everything,” stated the Tanzania Women’s Team coach.

The Twiga Stars coach urged the Copper Queens technical staff to improve their attack.

“They need good ball distribution in the final third. If you see this game, even the goal was a result of the mistake. But overall they didn’t create any clear chance to score in this game. So I hope the coaches will deal with that,” he said.

The Copper Queens are housed in Group C at the World Cup alongside Spain, Costa Rica, and Japan.
