South Africa and Nigeria will lock horns in the final round of the CAF 2024 Paris Olympics qualifiers.

Banyana Banyana defeated Tanzania 4-0 on aggregate, and Nigeria overcame Cameroon 1-0 to go to the last round.

South African forward Jermaine Seoposenwe has committed to helping her team qualify for the Olympics after becoming the tenth Banyana Banyana player to reach 100 international appearances.

The 30-year-old forward told SABC Sport, “My dreams have just pushed me to get to this point and I also have that mentality of just continuing to be better every day when I come to this national team so I play with pride and I love my country.”

She continued: “Just continue to push my teammates and push myself to the next level. I know we can get better, and I know we can go through higher heights; we have proven that for the last couple of days.

“I am really excited for the next generation to also step up and get to 100 caps, which is very important for the growth of women’s football and Banyana.

‘Nigeria knows what we can do’- Seoposenwe

Seoposenwe is aware of the tasks that lie ahead, but she believes her squad has the potential to qualify for the Olympics.

“It’s important to continue to qualify for massive tournaments like World Cups, Olympics, and Wafcon,” she said. “Hopefully, we can do that. We have one more round. It’s going to be a very tough opponent coming up. We know them [Nigeria] very well; they know us, but we have done well for the past couple of games against them. We need to step up. I am excited and hope we can qualify for the Olympics.”
