Choma Warriors Academy are the overall Champions of the Women’s National League Division One after beating Nchanga Rangers Queens 1-3 today at Lusaka’s Nationalist Stadium.
Choma Warriors qualified for the playoffs after emerging as Champions of Zone A National Women’s League and they faced off Nchanga Rangers Queen, the champions of Zone B National Women’s League.
The Choma-based club became the first Southern Province side to qualify for the Women’s Super League at the conclusion of the soccer season.
Club Secretary Janny Mujuda has reaffirmed that the club will not sell its Super League status and will play its league matches in Choma.
“We have no intentions of selling our Premier League slot or relocating our club to another town,” Mujuda said.
He adds that since inception, it has been the club’s dream to play their home matches in Choma.
“We have no intention of any sort to relocate the club from Choma to another town or sell our premier league space, because playing in the premier league has always been our goal as a club,” he added.
Mujuda said the club’s success is owed to the people of Choma, who have been supportive in its quest to earn Super League status.
