Following a dismal performance at the FIFA Series in Kenya, a Malawi sports commentator Kimu Kamau is suggesting that the Scorchers head coach Lovemore Fazili, needs further coaching courses to boost his technique.

Kamau believes that doing that would assist, Fazili to make sure that Malawi women’s football team delivers desired results at the WAFCON final games in Morocco.

Malawi finished bottom having failed 5-0 to Australia before another disappointing 3-2 defeat to India on Wednesday at Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi, Kenya.

Two weeks ago, the Flames of Malawi also returned home with their heads down after they also finished bottom of the Four Nations Tournament in Botswana—a development that has pushed some fans to demand for the firing of their head coach Kalisto Pasuwa.

But Kamau thinks the best way to record results at the Scorchers is to expose, Fazili to modern coaching studies.

“We have seen clubs in the country exposing their coaches by sending them abroad, Football Association of Malawi (FAM) can do the same to Fazili,” said Kamau.

Commenting on the players, Kamau said Malawi needs to find another goalkeeper as the current one Mercy Sikero has demonstrated some weaknesses.

“We observed some weaknesses in the goalkeeping area, even up front but we hope it was due to the unavailability of the Chawinga sisters,” he said.

However coach Fazili feels his team is not in bad shape.

“I am disappointed; it is bad for the defeat and mainly finishing bottom. However I am hopeful as our plans are to prepare for Wafcon, we included some local players who played well,” he said.
