The COSAFA Club Women’s Championship match between Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club and Malawi’s Ntopwa Football Club is expected to be challenging, according to head coach Carol Kanyemba.

Green Buffaloes will be looking for their first victory against the Champions of Malawi after drawing their previous match against Double Action of Botswana.

Coach Carol Kanyemba, however, tells BolaNews in an exclusive interview from South Africa that their first-ever clash will be challenging given that Ntopwa FC are only debutants and were able to draw their opening matches against Lesotho Defence Force.

“We have done our homework and addressed the mistakes that we made in our first game against Double Action. Today’s game will not be an easy game for us knowing the pressure is on our side. It will be very unpredictable because we are facing each other for the first time,” she said.

Coach Carol has since said the technical bench will respond to Wednesday disappointing draw by making changes to the squad ahead of the match kicking off at 15:30 central African time.

Green Buffaloes needs a win today.

“We dominated in our first game but missed a lot of opportunities which we could have easily converted. We have since made changes to our team that will enable us to have more creativity in the midfield,” she said.

As they continue their pursuit of defending their Championship and chasing for qualification for the CAF Champions League, a win for Green Buffaloes will put them in contention of qualifying to the knockout stages.
