Grace Chanda believes the Copper Queens have learnt from their mistakes that they made at the previous Olympics tournament.
After defeating Morocco 3-2 on aggregate, Zambia achieved a historic back-to-back qualification for the Olympics.
Chanda who recently joined American side Orlando Pride told the club’s media that it was now time for Zambia to correct their mistakes they made in the last Olympics.
She is a member of the 22-member team that Coach Bruce Mwape selected ahead of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
“It feels good it’s the second time for us, so we are so excited and happy. We are going there to go and fight what we missed the last tournament. We are going to show them how we managed to qualify for the Olympics.
“The experience we had last Olympics we didn’t perform well, but this time around we are looking forward to do better and improve on our mistakes we made last time. We are looking forward to doing better and go and compete,” said Chanda.
The bronze medalists from the 2022 WAFCON are scheduled to depart Zambia for Europe this weekend, where they will play a friendly international match on July 13 versus New Zealand. Foreign based players among them Racheal Kundanaji and captain Barbara Banda will join the rest of the team in Europe.
