Zambia’s Group B opponents at the 2024 Olympics, the United States of America Women’s National Team (USWNT), will play Costa Rica on July 16 in their final send-off match.
A Barbara Banda brace inspired Zambia to a 3-2 aggregate win over Morocco to secure a spot at the Olympics.
The Copper Queens will start the tournament with a match against the United States on July 25.
The United States will be hoping to learn vital lessons on how to stop Barbra Banda, Racheal Kundananji, and Lushomo Mweemba, whose goals condemned Costa Rica to a third defeat at the World Cup co-hosted by New Zealand and Australia.
According to U.S. Soccer, their final match before the 2024 Olympics, will be played at Audi Field in Washington.
The United States will now have a four-game runup to the Olympics with their new head coach Emma Hayes.
Hayes will join the team for the first time for double-header matches against the Korea Republic on June 1 and June 4 at Allianz Stadium.
The USA will also face Mexico on July 13 before heading to the nation’s capital for the Costa Rican match.
