The Copper Queens will take on Canada in their opening match of the FIFA Series in Cuiaba in Brazil On Saturday.

Aside Canada, Zambia will also face host Brazil and South Korea.

Speaking ahead of the match from the team’s base, defender Sailya Mwanza said it is an exciting opportunity for the team to test themselves against top opposition in the World

“We are working hard in training, and looking at the match against Canada, it will be a tough match. We can face any team with teamwork.”

Meanwhile, forward Mercy Chipasula states that the matches will be a good litmus test ahead of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

“We are facing some tough teams in this tournament. “It will also help to know how much we are prepared for the WAFCON,” she said.

“I’m working hard to ensure I make it consistently to the senior squad, but I’m also learning from the players that have been here before me.“
