Former Zambia Under-17 women’s national team head coach Albert Kachinga has laid out his expectations for newly appointed Copper Queens coach Nora Hauptle.

FAZ hired Hauptle on a three-year contract to replace Bruce Mwape, who had led the team since 2018.

Kachinga stated that the team is already in place and that the new coach will be expected to work on the game’s tactical approach.

“It’s a good thing that we have a coach, a qualified coach for that matter, and a woman,” Kachinga said. “We expect a lot, and probably a lot of things will change, I believe. The areas where we need to work on and which I believe we have probably been lacking are just a tactical approach to games, which I’m sure she’ll work on, and she has seen.”

Kachinga also believes that local coaches will benefit from the Swiss coach’s extensive playing and coaching experience.

“I think it would benefit a lot considering that she’s a woman… And most of the teams [in zambia] are coached by women,” Kachinga said.
