Copper Queens midfielder Comfort Selemani has sent a message to her new club, Zanaco Ladies FC, following her official debut on Wednesday.
The midfielder, along with defender Pauline Zulu, completed her transfer from Elite Ladies for K300,000.
Elite Ladies FC revealed that Selemani’s transfer fee was K130,000, and Zulu’s deal included K70,000 in cash and K100,000 in in-kind payment.
The agreement granted Elite Ladies access to Sunset Stadium for the remainder of the current season and a portion of the following season.
The deal granted Elite Ladies access to Sunset Stadium for the rest of the current season and part of the next season.
Selemani joined Elite Ladies in 2021 after being transferred from the now-defunct Solwezi Academy Queens for a reported K23,000. She later represented the national team at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the COSAFA Championship in the same year.
In reaction to her completed transfer from Elite Ladies, Selemani has expressed excitement to join the Sunset Stadium-domiciled side. She believes that the 11th-placed Zanaco Ladies will improve their performance in the second half of the season.
“I am super excited to join Zanaco Football Club Ladies,” she said. “I promise to give my best, work hard, and help the team win big things.”
Under the guidance of Copper Queens assistant coach Florence Mwila, Selemani expresses her determination to improve her skills and performance on the field.
“I am ready to learn, grow, and play my heart out for this amazing club. Thank you for welcoming me. I can’t wait to make you proud,” Selemani said.
