Indeni Roses forward Ngosa Chabwe says she will keep pushing herself to secure a place in the final WAFCON squad for the Copper Queens.
Chabwe is currently with the Copper Queens squad competing at the Hollywoodbets COSAFA Women’s Championship in South Africa.
The striker is making her debut in the tournament and has featured once so far, coming on as a second-half substitute in the match against Zimbabwe.
She is presently her club’s leading scorer, having recorded 12 goals and 13 assists this season.
Chabwe will be aiming to carry that impressive club form into the national team setup as Zambia look to successfully defend their COSAFA crown.
Zambia sits top of Group B with four points from two matches.
The defending champions were held to a goalless draw by Zimbabwe on Sunday afternoon.
In an exclusive interview with Bolanews, Chabwe shared her excitement about earning her debut for the Copper Queens.
“I feel good; it’s not easy for me to be here, and the reason why I am here is because I always put effort into everything I am doing, and with God Almighty by my side, everything is possible,” she said.
“As an individual I just have to keep on working hard so that I can achieve my goals, and collectively as a team we will keep on working hard until we get what we want,” she added.
The Indeni Roses attacker remains confident of making the final WAFCON squad.
“Yes, I will surely make it to the final squad of WAFCON; I just have to work extra hard,” noted Chabwe.
Meanwhile, Zambia will face Eswatini on Tuesday, February 24, in their final Group B fixture.
