Barbra Banda has lifted the spirits of Copper Queens fans after appearing in a live video showing her undergoing rehabilitation training, first in the gym and later in a swimming pool, as she continues her recovery from a serious injury.
The video comes barely a week after Banda was seen taking part in a social football match involving comedians and musicians, an appearance that raised questions about her fitness after spending the last five months on the sidelines.
Seemingly keen to allay those concerns, the Zambian striker went live on Facebook, sharing a 37-minute training session that offered fans a closer look at her rehabilitation routine. The session showed Banda working on the gym bike and treadmill before moving to the swimming pool for low-impact exercises.

Throughout the live broadcast, Banda remained engaging and upbeat, interacting with fans and encouraging them to like and share the video for a chance to win an Orlando Pride training kit.
As the workout progressed, Banda shifted to the swimming pool for what she termed a ‘recovery’ session.
In the same live video, Banda also took time to reminisce about her football journey with Zambia, reflecting on her rise from the youth national teams to becoming a key figure in the senior Copper Queens squad.
Banda hints comeback ahead of WAFCON
In August last year, her club, Orlando Pride, confirmed that Banda sustained an injury to the right adductor longus tendon that would rule her out for the remainder of the club season.
The injury has seen her miss 16 games for her club while missing four matches for the Copper Queens.
She ended her live video by reminding fans about the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
“So guys, don’t forget, [in] March, WAfCON, on Thursday, the draws for the WAfCON, as we all know, the Copper Queens, we are going to Morocco for the WAfCON. Watch out this time, guys,” she said.
Zambia are looking to better their performance from the previous WAfCON, where they were eliminated at the quarter-final stage after a 5–0 humiliation at the hands of Nigeria.
