Inter Milan will host FC Porto tonight for the Champions League round of 16 tie. This will be their fifth meeting in the competition.

With both teams second in their respective leagues, the battle has all the ingredients for a tasty affair.

Inter will aim to capitalize on home advantage, but both teams know a victory will give them an advantage going into the second leg.

Inter have 4 victories and one draw in their last five outings while Porto are flawless in their last five outings, winning five out of five.

Over the weekend, both Inter and Porto defeated their opponents Udinese and Rio Ave respectively.

All four of the previous meetings between Inter and Porto came in the UEFA Champions League in 2005.

The Italian side went unbeaten in the 2004-05 Round of 16 (W1 D1) before both teams won a game each in the 2005-06 group stage.

This will be the 10th time that Inter have hosted a Portuguese side in a European competition.

Inter are unbeaten in the previous nine games against Portuguese opponents – eight of which have been victories and one draw.

The only side to avoid defeat were Boavista, in a 0-0 draw in the UEFA Cup in October 1991.

Porto have only lost one of their previous seven matches against Italian opponents in European competition (W4 D2).

That lone defeat came away to Juventus in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16-second leg in 2020-21 (2-3), however, Sérgio Conceição’s side still progressed from the tie on aggregate.

Who will win or will the game end in a stalemate?

BETTING TIP: Inter to win with 0-3 goals in the match.
Odd: 2.15
