English Premier League side Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has warned his players not to underrate Seville FC tonight when they meet in the UEFA Champions League group stage.
The Spanish trainer believes, Sevilla will be aggressive and City will have to anticipate tough competition.
They won’t be concerned with just defending. We have to be prepared because they will be aggressive.
This competition is played with a lot of enthusiasm. More so in a stadium like this one. We have to be prepared for that. We have to crank up the pace.
There is a great emotional component here, much more than just tactics.
Pep Guardiola said during the pre-match press conference.
Manchester City will kick off their 2022/23 UEFA Champions League campaign against Sevilla FC tonight with Norwegian striker, Erling Halaad tipped to replicate his Premier League form.
The Citizens started their season on a high as they are without a lose so far in the English Premier League, with their new signing Haaland, already on 10 league goals in his first six matches.
On the other hand, Sevilla have conceded eight goals in four league games so far this season in the Spanish La Liga.
The Julen Lopetegui coached Sevilla have only picked up one point from four La Liga games, resulting in a very poor start for them compared to last season but they will look to redeem themselves in the Champions League tonight.
Pep Guardiola will however count on his charges to maintain their unbeaten record against the Spanish side, especially with the in-form Halaad leading the attack for the Citizens.
City have won both their last two meetings with Sevilla FC and will look to maintain that record as they kick off their campaign for their first ever Champions league title tonight.
