Polish Striker Robert Lewandowski on Wednesday night, become the first player in the history of the UEFA Champions League to score a hat-trick for three different clubs.
He achieved the feat when Spanish club FC Barcelona thrashed Czech First League champions Viktoria Plzen 5-1 to kick off their campaign on a high.
The former Bayern Munich goal poacher has now scored one Champions League hat-trick for Barcelona, four for Bayern Munich and also one for Borussia Dortmund, making him the only player in history to make that mark.
It was the Polish international’s sixth Champions League hat-trick which puts him in the second position for the most hat-tricks scored in the competition with Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi level on 8 hat-tricks as the only players to have scored more than him.
Lewandowski also increased his tally in the Champions League to 89 goals to move in third position as the all-time goal scorer in the UEFA Champions League.
He has so far scored 8 goals in just 5 appearances this season across all competitions for the Barcelona side that is sitting second on the La Liga standings with 10 points in four matches.
