Manchester City drew 1-1 at Bayern Munich to advance to the Champions League semi-finals after Erling Haaland scored his 48th goal of the season.

Haaland scored in City’s 3-0 first-leg win that put them in control of the quarterfinal tie. The Norwegian scored again to open the scoring at Allianz Arena on Wednesday night after missing a penalty in the first half for the first time in two years.

Before Thomas Tuchel was sent off, Joshua Kimmich scored Bayern Munich’s consolation goal from the penalty spot, ending City’s 10-match winning streak.

Pep Guardiola knocked out his former club with a 4-1 aggregate win to advance to the semifinals for the second consecutive time.

The Cityzens will again meet defending Champions Real Madrid in the last four in what will be a repeat of last season’s matchup in the Champions League.

Inter set up Milan derby in Champions League semi-

Inter Milan’s 2-0 win in Portugal in the first leg worked to their advantage on Wednesday night as Benefica came firing in Italy in the second leg.

The Nerazzurri, on the other hand, increased their lead at home when Nicolo Barella scored early at San Siro.

Fredrik Aursnes gave Benfica hope just before halftime, but Lautaro Martinez and Joaquin Correa scored for Inter in the second half.

A late flurry of Benfica goals from Antonio Silva and Petar Musa in the closing stage did little to dent the lead that Simone Inzaghi’s side had built up over both legs.

The match ended 3-3 with Inter progressing to the semifinal with a massive 5-3 aggregate victory to set up a Milan derby in the Champions League.

Inter and Milan will meet in European competition for the first time since the 2004/05 season when flares infamously rained down on the San Siro pitch.

The tie also guarantees the first Italian finalist in the Champions League since Juventus lost to Real Madrid in 2017.

It is also the first time that either of the Milan clubs will have reached the final since Inter’s triumph in 2010.
