The departure of Kalisto Pasuwa from FCB Nyasa Big Bullets in Malawi has caused some issues at the club, as some players have refused to extend their contracts with the team.
BolaNews has established that some players have left the team and are on their way to Zimbabwe for trials.
The season’s MVP, Nickson Nyasulu, is said to have signed a pre-contract with Platinum FC, becoming the first player to leave Bullets.
Following him, another defender, Precious Phiri, told BolaNews that he had left Malawi for Zimbabwe.
“It is true that I am leaving for Zimbabwe; for details, you can talk to my manager,” he said.
Last week, Bullets captain Gomezgani Chirwa refused to extend his contract despite agreeing on the terms. A Bullets official informed us that they had a meeting with Chirwa to discuss terms.
“He asked for a salary increase, which we did, and agreed to sign a contract a day later only to realise that the player was nowhere to be seen,” the official disclosed.
On Saturday, Chirwa departed Blantyre by bus to Zimbabwe. “We were waiting for him at the office... But only to be told that he has left for Zimbabwe,” added the official.
A source close to Pasuwa said three more players from Bullets will depart for Zimbabwe to attend trials at an unnamed club.
“These clubs had approached Pasuwa to look for players in Malawi and he recommended some,” he said.
Currently, no Malawian players are playing in Zimbabwe, and this will be the first time in years.
Pasuwa, who had been with the Bullets since 2018, left when his contract expired in December.
